Corners of Sanctuary was formed in early 2011 after members of the band, Seeker, regrouped in 2010 to celebrate the band’s anniversary. The reunion spawned a desire that brought these members together:
Sean Nelligan – drums
James Pera – bass
Mick Michaels - guitars & keyboards
Frankie Cross - vocalist
Each member honed their craft whilst playing in several Pennsylvania-based bands. The need to return to their roots was apparent. With a direction and a sound that by now was inherent to each, Corners of Sanctuary (C.O.S.) began writing and rehearsing all original material.
With an arsenal of hard hitting material under their belt, including the albums “Breakout” and
“Harlequin”, Corners of Sanctuary, have released their third album “Axe to Grind”. The album released worldwide on November 1, 2013.
“It’s a straight forward Old School Heavy Metal record. We are really excited and proud of this effort. There is a lot of energy within each track – you can hear and feel it. ‘Axe’ is definitely a homage to our roots, our influences, our experiences on the road this past year and our artistic voice”:- Mick Michaels.
Corners of Sanctuary has been supporting the new album with “The Axe Has Fallen” Tour that’s includes a string of dates throughout the Mid-West & East Coast regions. In May the band will perform at the NEPA Metal Meltdown Fest 2014 and perform with Anvil.

Jordan Vauvert

I love this particular niche of modern black metal. Crisp, biting production and clear, cutting riffs. Imperialist are among the best there is right now. Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass)
