Masquerader is a thrash metal squad from Taiwan formed by high school mates guitarist Goat and bassist Roger. Later on, they found ex-vocalist Andrew, ex-guitarist Jeff and drummer Ron to begin writing as well as covering songs from legends such as Slayer, Sodom, Venom. In 2009, they release their debut EP “Masquerader” which included three tracks: 1. Capitilism Cannibalism, 2. Carcass, 3. Samurai Slave Driver, with the creative focus on social issues, violence and historical wars. From 2009 to 2012, besides continuous writing, they have toured Taiwan and Korea with the invitation from Seed. They were also honored to open for legends such as Destruction, Fastkill, Napalm Death and Megadeth.

In 2012, Masquerader prepared for their second EP, with the creative focus and image shift towards science fiction materials. They have also invited Bloody Tyrant`s guitarist 林祈安and CJ Kao (Chthonic`s Keyboardist) for the EP`s recording and mixing. However, ex-vocalist Andrew have left the band due to personal considerations. The band continued their journey of recording and touring by replacing Andrew with the current vocalist Ian (also Bloody Tyrant’s singer).

Masquerader finished recording their second EP “Singular Point” at the end of December. The packaging design and art works were completed by Goat and released in Hong Kong (ex-guitarist Jeff left the band due to personal plans, thus Bloody Tyrant`s 林祈安 filled-in for this show.) After the album release, to continue on the creative process, they found current guitarist Wayne for the touring in February of 2013 in Thailand. This EP has received much recognition, of many included American Sci-Fi thrash legends Vektor and Chilean metal titan Criminal’s Anton Reisenegger’s invitation to be promoted on the largest rock radio in Chile.

There are four songs in Singular point, one of the songs – Symbiosis displayed the concern on human survival and its relationship with the future natural environmental conditions. This song reflected Masqueraders’ thinking theme. Currently, the band is preparing their first album, and this will change the way you think about Thrash, stayed tuned!
