Netherion is a Syrian Death Metal band that formed in 2009 when our guitarists Mohammed AlDimashki and Mohammed Al-Shalaq met in collage... it was like hey dude you play the guitar? I play guitar so lets do some jamming... then Shalaq introduced the bass player Mohammad Alesseh then the old drummer Khalid Nassar who played with us in the demo.
Recently Fadi Massamiri aka Typhone who played in a great local band called Eulen and played the drums in another local band Abidetherein joined Netherion to replace Khalid Nassar, the vocalist Gilbert was introduced to the band after a while through a friend of the guitarists. We then gave the band a name "Netherion", which is an amalgamation of the two words "nether" and "ion".
"Nether" goes back to the Netherworld (the world of spirits where the souls dwell after death before the day of judgement in some legends and tails), "Ion" is the centre of the atom so basically the name means the centre of the Netherworld, so far it describes the state of decay we feel that the world is drowning us in with all the issues and psychodrama. All of us grew up with metal music in general, Death metal was our favourite genre by all means, the strong riffs, the techniques, the lyrics, you know its all about the taste.

Jordan Vauvert

I love this particular niche of modern black metal. Crisp, biting production and clear, cutting riffs. Imperialist are among the best there is right now. Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass)
