TEN TONNE DOZER formed in the Shetland Islands, Scotland in 2005 by Australian Dave Kok (vocals) and local Shetlander Jamie Duncan (lead guitar). Also in the TEN TONNE DOZER line up: Mick Tait (bass), Jamie Dalziel (guitar) and Keith Neill (drums). TEN TONNE DOZER have built themselves a mighty reputation not only in Shetland, but also throughout the UK and parts of mainland Europe through their empowering, energetic and explosive live performances and good natured professionalism. TEN TONNE DOZER have played with and supported a variety of acts such as Faroe Islands metal powerhouse SIC, Glasgow legends ATTICA RAGE, Aberdeen metal act SEMPERFI, as well as Dutch rockers DEAFENING and German act BREAKING SAMSARA.

Since the début release of TEN TONNE DOZER’S E.P ‘The Valley’ in 2007, scoring an 8 out of 10 in Metal Hammer magazine, the band continues to find new fans across the globe. TEN TONNE DOZER are continually gigging and receive frequent radio airplay on terrestrial FM and internet stations throughout the UK, Australia, Europe, and North America, including BBC1 Scotland, Muzic Chapter on ROB FM (The Netherlands), Total Biker FM, and The Rock Show on CPR 7-LTN FM (Australia). Numerous features, interviews and reviews have been published in regional, national and international press, magazines and webzines, all increasing the band’s profile. Alpha Vunk fanzine stated, ‘ …the best thing to rise out from the ashes of the Shetland metal scene in 20 years’.

Comparisons have been drawn to the likes of ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY, CLUTCH, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and PANTERA but each member of TEN TONNE DOZER brings their own influences to the mix. Their musical roots are firmly planted in the classic power-groove riffs of BLACK SABBATH, AC/DC, KYUSS, LED ZEPPELIN with touches of thrash metal from METALLICA and EXODUS. Staying true to TEN TONNE DOZER’S own brand of music and delivering powerful songs and performance with an unbridled enthusiastic attitude and self-belief within the band (while standing aside from the latest passing trends & fashions) have found TEN TONNE DOZER an ever-increasing, loyal and passionate worldwide fan base.
