Infection is a Peruvian death metal band formed in 2006 by Antonio and Guliano who, inspired by such acts as Death, Cannibal Corpse and Monstrosity, decided to create their own songs. Their music style can be defined as a mix of traditional death metal with influences from the thrash and grindcore scene.
Shortly after the creation of the group, Yesid Aranda joined as the drummer and the band rehearsed regularly while waiting for a bassist to complete the formation. With the inclusion of Yuri Cazal as the bass player, the band was ready to perform and was included in several small venues in the Peruvian capital. At the same time, in order to promote their music, Infection recorded a limited three-song disc. Before the public release, a special hand-numbered edition was distributed along press and people related to the underground metal scene.
"Nothing but scum", their first official album, was recorded at Hellcat studios with the help of Félix Silva (Trauma). This six-song EP allowed the band to participate regularly in more local venues. On 2009, the full-length album "Necrokindergarden" saw the light. Recorded at Audiolab studios and //Kill the pixel now studio, shows a great improvement both in sound quality and song-writing. This album includes improved versions of the EP tracks plus seven new tunes, and a special cover song from Monstrosity's "Imperial doom" album (Definite Inquisition). Thanks to the special digital release, positive comments and support were received not only from he local scene but also from people around the globe.
In spite of the departure of bassist and drummer, Infection is actually recording the songs that will be included in their new production, entitled “Acrotomophile Mutilator” (it will probably see the light on early 2012). This time the goal was to push their limits as musicians; walking toward a more complex path, Infection has composed and arranged more thoroughly without missing the brutality that characterized their last effort.

Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74

I think I discovered this one (well, Saor in general) in 2022. In addition to an embalming soundtrack go-to, it's definitely a cold-weather favorite. skyturtles

Iranian Depressive Black Metal. This is a one man band whose other project is Ekove Efrits. This is very dark but does not even remotely descend into any kind of dullness along the way. Truly fantastic music! Highly recommended!!! bmurator
