Hybris is a Heavy Metal band founded in San Cristóbal de La Laguna (Tenerife - Canary Islands) in 2006, with the arrival of Pacho Brea (ex-singer Ankhara) to the island, after the friendship arose between him and Yeray López (guitarist).
Initially the group had only three members: Fred (Vocals / Guitar), Yeray (Guitar) and Jose Lancharro (Drums), meaning they were looking for two other members to complete the line-up, that's when Victor Arrocha and Pacho Brea appeared after meeting one night in May of that year.
The group then began to take shape and compose their own songs, later they realized that their songs needed another instrument to give it that perfect touch, then Marcos Jimenez (Keyboards) joined the group. Now the band is complete. For almost a year and half, they were preparing what was their first album-demo "Other Worlds" which consisted of 11 songs. Weeks after the drummer had to leave the band for personal reasons and, after an intense search, Alberto Fuentes joined the group.
They made their début on stage on December 7th, 2007, with a good reception from the Tenerife public. May 17th, 2008 it was decided to upload the release to their website for free download, taking less than a month over 1000 downloads were noted, and arriving at around 3000 these days.
Their second album "Hybris" was also uploaded to the Web, which remained blocked for two days because of the massive discharge, about 3,000 since May 2009. Hybris has given numerous concerts with many Canary Islands groups (Meridian Zero, Assault, Oi Is Armed, Slavery, etc.) and national (Darkmoor, ArkGabriel, Cardinal, Adgar, etc), and their instruments are always prepared for those who can come. They are currently promoting their second album, and preparing their upcoming concert, which will take them to download their live on different points of the Spanish geography.
