Hybris is a Heavy Metal band founded in the Tenerife town of San Cristobal de La Laguna in 2006, with the arrival of Pacho Brea (ex-singer Ankhara) to the island and after befriending Yeray López, joining them was Victor, Marcos Jimenez and finally Alberto Fuentes. For almost one and a half years, they prepared what was their first album demo entitled "Otros Mundos" where the charismatic vocalist Oscar Sancho (Lujuria) decided to help out on.
On May 17th, 2008 their first demo was released via their website. In May 2009 came their first released album "Hybris" which was uploaded to their website for free direct downloading. With this release they embarked on their first tour throughout the Spanish territory. On September 20th, 2010 they released their second CD entitled "Tras el Cristal", under the label Legend Records. In September 2011 they released their third album "Otros Mundos 2011" which features re-recordings of some songs from their demo "Otros Mundos" and a version of the classic song "Night People" by Ronnie James Dio.
In April 2012 they released their fourth CD "Instinto", which includes wonderful collaborations from Tete Novoa (Saratoga) and Víctor Andrés (ex-Megara). Their live presentation was on 4th May at the Aguere Cultural Space of the city of La Laguna, where the new tour "From Lost to the InstinTour" led them again to perform at venues and festivals all over Spanish territory. Their most important action, the Legendas Del Rock 2012, involved sharing the stage with bands on the national and international bands such as Stratovarius, Eluveitie, WarCry, Obus, Banzai, Saratoga, Avalanch, Lujuria, Angelus Apatrida, Saurom, Medina Azahara, Sentinel, Dunedain, and Vita Imana amongst many others.

Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74

I think I discovered this one (well, Saor in general) in 2022. In addition to an embalming soundtrack go-to, it's definitely a cold-weather favorite. skyturtles

Iranian Depressive Black Metal. This is a one man band whose other project is Ekove Efrits. This is very dark but does not even remotely descend into any kind of dullness along the way. Truly fantastic music! Highly recommended!!! bmurator
