about

Elbereth formed in 2002 in Legazpi, when five local youths gathered to rehearse together. The first line-up composed of Iker Manso (Guitar), Xabier Urkia (Guitar), Ruben Sanchez (Guitar), Aritz Legorburu (Bass), Eneko Corn (Drums).

Shortly after recording their first album, Eneko had to leave the group due to family matters, and his replacement was Xabier Etxeberria (Drums). After recording the second album, also for family matters, Xabier Urkia decided to leave the group and was replaced with Iker Otegi (Guitar).

They used to rehearse together in a room they had in Legazpi. They managed to record a demo with their own songs, which were presented in a demo competition and ended up winning. Later, a rehearsal room was built in the town and the group got one. In 2007 they recorded their first album, "Gaueko Ilargia". This album consisted of 10 songs. They were assisted by local musicians Yerco (Guitar) and Abel (Vocals). Yerco participated in an instrumental song "Arimaren Islada" and Abel helped on the song "Mendeku Garaia".

In 2009 they recorded their second album, "Arimak Pizturik Dirau". This album consisted of 11 songs. In this case, with the collaboration of the singer of Brigi Koma, who sung on the song "Itzalak Lehioetan" and Abel sung on the song "Sinismen Galdua".

In 2012 they recorded their third album, "Itzalitako Izarren Lurraldea". This album consisted of 10 songs. Since recording their first album, Elbereth went playing throughout the Basque Country, starting from their cit, Legazpi, which saw them play at their first concert, at parties and when presenting their albums. The group really liked the town and as the time went, they were getting more and more stronger. Gradually, they began to play concerts in different locations, e.g. reaching out to the Doka of San Sebastian, in which they have performed numerous times. Their success was such that they even got to play in Barcelona.
